沙溪纺织业已有数百年历史，90年代以来，沙溪的休闲服装生产迅速壮大， 沙溪休闲服装品牌迅速崛起，成为中国休闲服装重要的生产基地 ，在中国服装界有"休闲服装看沙溪"的评价，年产服装322420万件。 2002年12月24日，沙溪镇更获得中国纺织工业协会、中国服装协会联合授予的" 中国休闲服装名镇"称号。
The start of Shaxi's textile industry can be dated back a few hundred years ago. Since the 90's, Shaxi's casual dress industry has witnessed a blooming growth within a short period of time with many famous brands quickly established themselves in the market place, turning Shaxi into an important production base for China's causal dresses. In China's fashion circle, there is a staying that Shaxi determines the casual dress industry in China, which can be justified by the fact that Shaxi produces some 3.2 billion pieces of clothes each year. On Dec. 24th, 2002, Shaxi Town received the title of Famous Town in China for Casual Dress awarded jointly by the China National Textile Industry Council (CNFTI) and the China National Garment Association (CNDA). |
